Tuul expressway project temporarily suspended

The Government of Mongolia has decided to temporarily suspend the implementation of the “Tuul Expressway” project, Prime Minister N.Uchral announced.

In recent months, citizens, political parties, and members of the academic community have repeatedly submitted appeals to the Prime Minister regarding the project. These appeals raise concerns related to environmental impact, traffic congestion, economic effectiveness, and the project’s financing.

Prime Minister N.Uchral emphasized that the Government must carefully consider and respect the arguments and positions presented. He also highlighted the need to address public misunderstandings and conflicting information, and to establish an objective and accurate assessment of the project.

Accordingly, the implementation of the “Tuul Expressway” project will be suspended until relevant inspections and reviews by law enforcement and oversight authorities are completed.

Further decisions regarding the project will be announced based on the outcomes of these reviews.
