Mongolian People’s Party Nominates N.Uchral for Prime Minister of Mongolia

ULAANBAATAR – At the III Conference of the Mongolian People’s Party (MPP), the decision to nominate Nyam-Osor Uchral, the current Chairman of the MPP and Speaker of the State Great Khural, for the position of Prime Minister of Mongolia was officially announced.

Nyam-Osor Uchral is a seasoned statesman who has served three terms as a Member of Parliament and held several key ministerial portfolios within the Cabinet.

Education and Qualifications

Mr. Uchral possesses a robust academic background in law, history, and international management:

2007: Graduated from Ikh Zasag International University, majoring in Law.

2010: Earned a Master’s degree in Business Administration and International Management from the London branch of Limkokwing University of Creative Technology and the University of Buckingham (United Kingdom).

2013: Obtained a Doctorate (Ph.D.) in History from the Institute of Mongolian, Buddhist, and Tibetan Studies of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

Professional Career and Public Service

His career spans academia, party leadership, and high-level government service:

Legislative Branch: A Member of the State Great Khural since 2016 (elected for three consecutive terms). He previously chaired the Temporary Committee on Digital Policy and the Standing Committee on Innovation and Digital Policy. Since November 2025, he has served as the Speaker of the State Great Khural.

Executive Branch: Served as the Minister of Digital Development and Communications (2022–2024) and Minister of the Cabinet Secretariat (2024–2025). Since June 2025, he has held the positions of First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Development.

Political Leadership: Rising through the party’s youth wing, he served as the President of the Social Democracy Mongolian Youth Federation (SDMYF) from 2019 to 2024. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Mongolian People's Party.
